Black tourmaline , also known as schorl , is a very popular semi-precious stone, particularly in lithotherapy, jewelry, and energy protection practices.

• Color : deep black, sometimes with brown or gray highlights

• Crystal system : trigonal

• Hardness (Mohs scale) : 7 to 7.5

• Chemical composition : boron silicate complex with iron, hence its black color

• Origin : It is found mainly in Brazil, Africa (especially Madagascar), Afghanistan, the United States and India
