The name "Tectite" comes from the Greek tectos, which means melted.
This is molten rock ejected during the collision of a meteorite with the earth's crust. Under the effect of the impact the rock is vitrified, ejected and cooled quickly, hence the possible confusion with obsidian.
The composition of tektite differs. It contains elements of cosmic origin: nickel, platinum, iridium, cobalt
Hardness: 5 – 5.5
In lithotherapy this stone invites us to sublimation, change, transformation and letting go.
It stimulates intuition. Used during meditation, it opens the 3rd eye chakra.
It opens up to the thought and possibilities of another world.
