Milky quartz is a little-known quartz. It has no myths or legends about it. Milky quartz is also called snow quartz, quartzite or girasol.

Milky quartz is a mineral species belonging to the silicate group and the tectosilicate subgroup, with traces of various elements such as aluminum, lithium, boron, iron, magnesium, etc. Just like all quartz, milky quartz is composed of silicon dioxide.

Milky quartz is a variety of mineral quartz, white in color. This color is caused by the exposure of quartz to natural radiation from radioactive elements or the presence of radioactive rocks nearby. This exhibition has been taking place for millennia.

The course of this phenomenon is not completely known or explained. We know that exposing transparent quartz to radiation can cause impurities in the quartz composition to change.

Furthermore, milky quartz often has numerous inclusions in the form of cavities containing carbon dioxide or water. The higher the number of these inclusions, the more opaque the quartz becomes.

Milky quartz is also the cause of cloudy ghosts inside other minerals, such as amethyst, citrine, or smoky quartz. It has a formation that may have stopped and then resumed millions of years later. It gives the impression of crystal within crystal. The crystal inside appears ghostly. This type of milky quartz is then called ghost quartz.

When quartz is too translucent, it becomes difficult to classify: it can belong to the rock crystal category or that of very faintly colored milky quartz. This is actually the most common variety of quartz.

Indeed, the massive form of milky quartz, therefore non-crystallized, is extremely widespread. It should be noted that it has a significant particularity: it is an excellent indicator of the presence of native gold. Indeed, gold is often discovered in veins of milky quartz.

Some milky quartz exhibits an asterism, which means that it displays a star or cross effect, with light lines. They have a high hardness of 7 on the Mohs scale. For comparison, diamond has the highest hardness which is 10 on this same scale.

The main deposits are in Brazil, India, the United States, etc.

Milky quartz has many spiritual virtues. It offers balance of emotions, harmony and peace. It chases away negative thoughts and transforms them into positive thoughts. It allows its wearer to find calm, serenity and peace.

This mineral helps to have an overview and to know how to analyze even a delicate situation. It brings clarity and open-mindedness. It allows you to overcome life's difficulties with wisdom. It provides mental resistance.

This stone generates alertness and develops memorization skills. It is excellent for students and people in retraining. It helps increase attention and concentration.

Milky quartz is recommended for people suffering from anxiety, anguish and paralyzing shyness. It gives the strength to fight against these negative energies and to turn towards others. She learns to trust, to show compassion and empathy.

It is an excellent meditation stone. It provokes the connection with one's inner self. It can help identify blockages often linked to childhood and provides a feeling of fulfillment.

It offers autonomy and allows so-called emotionally dependent people to free themselves. It provides assurance and gives the opportunity to resist people who have too much control over them.
