The mine is located in a remote area and can only be operated during the winter months when the rains have stopped.
Despite the harsh conditions and difficult access, the turquoise found at the Golden Hills Mine is renowned for its bright blue color with a lavender undertone, making it unlike any other turquoise on the market.
