Solar quartz is so called because of the original radiated structure of this microcrystallized Quartz that developed in the form of a stalactitic concretion with a core of solid, opaque and contrasting inclusions. The concretions formed parallel to each other and sometimes stuck together, which may explain the presence of several "cores" in the same piece.
