Maligano Jasper was first found around 2011 near the village of Maligano on Kendari Island (Sulawesi, southeast Celebes).
Coloured jasper consists mainly of yellow, orange, red and pink material, which has been cemented with white, grey or black quartz - Maligano jasper is therefore a typical breccia jasper.
