Very beautiful pendant composed of an ammonite from Madagsacar of approximately 30mm x 20mm.
Ammonites are a group of fossil marine animals of the cephalopod mollusk class. They can be several million years old
The shell is generally the only fossilized part. It is in the form of a flat spiral with contiguous turns. Certain forms have a non-contiguous or helical or completely unrolled spiral, we then speak of heteromorphic ammonites. The shell is subdivided into a phragmocone divided into compartments (separated by lines of sutures characteristic of each species) and into a housing compartment where the soft body of the animal is located. All the boxes communicate thanks to a ventral siphon.
