Colors and patterns vary from one stone to another.

Java Sunset Rhyolite looks like a sunset in the sea.
It was discovered in an old gold mine in the Banten Forest in the west of the island of Java.
The mine has since been closed, but raw banded stones are still extracted manually and laboriously in the region.
The different colored bands are caused by silicate deposits with different iron content.
