Lava stone, black, rich in sillicic acid with a ferruginous substance which gives it its color. Midnight Lace obsidian comes from the Caucasus Mountains of Russia. It is also known as Russian Lace Obsidian and Banded Obsidian. It is translucent brown in color in which there are black lamellae. Obsidian is associated with Pluto – Greek God of the underworld and guardian of hidden treasure.
