The meteorites from Campo del Cielo fell to Earth about 5,000 years ago, coming from the asteroid belt. The ellipse of dispersion of the class 1A meteorite extends between the province of Chaco and the province of Santiago del Estero. Campo del Cielo means in Spanish field of the sky or also field of stars.
