Lava stone, black, rich in silicic acid with a ferruginous substance that gives it its color. Midnight Lace Obsidian comes from the Caucasus Mountains in Russia. It is also known as Russian Lace Obsidian and Banded Obsidian. It is translucent brown in color in which there are black lamellae. Obsidian is associated with Pluto - Greek God of the underworld and guardian of hidden treasure.
