Thulite is a stone belonging to the zoisite family, composed of aluminum and calcium silicates. It owes its name to the legendary island of Thule and the Greek name “lithos” which means “stone”, therefore literally translating “Thule stone”.

It is found under other names such as rosaline or pink zoisite. It can sometimes be confused with rhodonite. Thulite is a stone particularly appreciated by collectors or in the world of lithotherapy.

This stone is rich in manganese, which gives it its beautiful pink color. The concentration of manganese varies the intensity of the pink, which is then more or less vivid. Thulite is often speckled with white calcite or quartz. It is compact and consists of dense crystals. This pink mineral is formed in cold environments, with a high concentration of lithium and manganese, through a crystallization phenomenon.

It is often cut into a cabochon. At the same time, it is also widely used in the creation of sculptures or in the manufacture of bracelets, pendants, etc.

Thulite extraction is generally done by hand using simple tools and ancient techniques. Due to the distance between villages and production areas, its transport is done by helicopter or all-terrain vehicles.

Thulite was discovered in 1820 in the Norwegian town of Sauland, in Telemark Provence. Its name is in homage to the legendary and mystical Scandinavian island of Thule.

For the record, the Greek explorer Pytheas of Massalia (today Marseille) was the first to write about Thule after his travels between 330 and 320 BC. It presents Thule as being an island, the last of the British archipelago. This would, a priori, be Iceland or Norway.

There are very few writings about thulite and there are no myths or legends concerning it. Furthermore, very good quality thulite is extremely rare. It is one of the precious stones that remains completely natural and untreated. For information, the blue variant of thulite is tanzanite. The main deposits are located in Norway, Australia, Canada, etc.

Thulite is a stone that brings positive energy and evacuates negative energies. It allows you to move forward and above all promotes self-love. It develops openness towards others and triggers sympathy among those around the wearer, whether on a personal or professional level. It provides eloquence and quality speeches. Its wearer is more comfortable during social contacts.

This stone generates the courage to overcome one's fears, anxieties and anxiety. The person radiates communicative joy and optimism, especially during social interactions. It is a stone that encourages true friendships.

Thulite has a powerful anti-stress effect and provides calm and serenity. Its wearer is able to better manage his emotions. This mineral comforts him during emotional wounds, such as the loss of a loved one or a painful romantic separation. In fact, it wards off sadness and negativity.
