Phosphosiderite has a very logical etymology, since it is the association of two names, “phospho” for phosphate and “siderit” which comes from the Greek “sideros” meaning “iron”.

For example, diamond has a hardness of 10, the maximum hardness on this same scale. It is one of the phosphate minerals such as turquoise, lazulite, monazite, etc.

Its crystal system is monoclinic. Phosphosiderite occurs in the form of tabular crystals (in tablet form) or prismatic crystals.

Nowadays, phosphosiderite is mainly used in jewelry where it is often cut in the form of cabochons intended for jewelry, such as rings, pendants, bracelets. We find this stone in lithotherapy, because it has excellent benefits and virtues.
