Iron eye is a stone resulting from a mixture of several minerals. It is also called hematoid jasper. This brown and golden mineral is a derivative of tiger's eye. It is composed of hematite and magnetite, tiger's eye and red jasper.

Hematite and magnetite are ferrous oxides that give the stone its dark, metallic appearance. Tiger's eye gives it beautiful golden inclusions. And finally, jasper provides a beautiful red hue.

The iron eye is therefore an aggregate of minerals in the form of layers and which form designs similar to golden landscapes. As a reminder, an aggregate is “the meeting of distinct elements which forms a whole”. The dominant elements are ferrous oxides. They are at the origin of this beautiful metallic shine hence the name of the stone “iron eye”.

This stone alone combines the powers and benefits of three different minerals:

  • red jasper, which has a high concentration of iron dioxide, which gives it this incredible red color. It is made up of 85% silica and belongs to the quartzite family;

  • hematite is mainly composed of oxygen, iron, titanium, aluminum and manganese;

  • Tiger's eye also belongs to the quartzite family. It consists of silicon dioxide, amphibole (a non-hazardous form of asbestos in stone form) and quartz.

The formation of the iron eye took place about 3 billion years ago. This rock underwent metamorphic crushing of sediments rich in quartz and limonite. In fact, it was modified in its structure under the action of heat and pressure. Note: limonite is a set of oxides and hydroxides of iron and clay.

Its folded banded structure and its hardness are the result of tectonic movements, the high heat and pressure that this rock has undergone during the metamorphosis process.

The iron eye has a hardness of 7 on the Mohs scale. The highest hardness, 10, is that of diamond. It can therefore be worked by jewelers in the manufacture of jewelry such as rings, bracelets and pendants.

It is also widely used in lithotherapy. Indeed, this rock is very powerful because of its constitution.

There are no myths or legends related to this iron eye stone. It is only known that it was used by Roman warriors when they went into battle.

It served as a protective amulet. It protected its wearer from injuries, poisoning attempts, insect bites, reptile bites and death.

The Iron Eye also allowed the physical strength, energy and rage of the fighters to be increased tenfold.

The main deposits are located in South Africa, Australia, etc.

In Lithotherapy, the iron eye has many virtues due to this association of 3 minerals. It gives its wearer unfailing optimism. It helps him overcome life's difficulties. It relieves emotional shocks such as the loss of a loved one, an unwanted divorce or an unfair dismissal.

This stone is also a powerful shield against attacks from negative people. Not only does it protect its wearer, but it has a mirror function. It can thus turn the attack against the one who initiated it.

The iron eye increases the ability to concentrate and memorize. This stone is recommended for students or for people who are undertaking training. It is advisable to place it in your work environment, on your desk for example.

This mineral is nicknamed the stone of the shy. It gives assurance and self-confidence. It encourages to have a morale of steel and the strength to achieve the set objectives. The red jasper contained in this stone increases energy and vitality tenfold.

The iron eye, like all stones with the name eye, helps protect its wearer against negative emotions and energies, against jealousy, envy and anger.

It is an anchoring stone. It eliminates stress. Its wearer lives fully in the present moment. He is more stable and ready to manage his emotions. He effectively fights against his hypersensitivity. He is also more open to others and shows more tolerance.
