Natural stones owe their name based on their color, mythology, their history or their place of extraction. This is exactly the case for this stone called K2 jasper.

This K2 jasper comes from Mount K2 located in the Himalayas, the second peak in the world at 8,620 meters above sea level. Discovered in 1520, K2 jasper has no associated legends or myths. Its history is even very little known.

In the 16th century, only residents near Mount K2 knew this stone. They attributed to it an immense power of protection and healing. Indeed, they wore it in the form of pendants.

But at this altitude, the environment is hostile and the conditions for extracting K2 jasper stone are extremely difficult. Oxygen is rarer and you must be in excellent physical condition to climb this mountain.

Thus, this stone is relatively rare on the fine stone market due to the enormous difficulties in its extraction.

K2 jasper has this commercial name, but in reality this stone is made up of 80% silicate, granite speckled with inclusions of blue azurite and/or brown biotite.

Granite crystallizes deep within the earth, then slowly rises to the surface. It is a magmatic plutonic rock with a grainy texture and rich in quartz. Granite is the result of the slow cooling of enormous masses of magma.

At the same time, azurite is a mineral variety made up of copper carbonate. This stone has been known for millennia. Traces of azurite have been discovered in ointment pots dating from the 4th Dynasty of Egypt. The Greeks named it kuanos meaning cyan and the Egyptians called it caeruleum.

K2 jasper, light in color, has magnificent azurite inclusions in the form of intense blue circles. You would think that it was painted by hand and would not leave anyone indifferent.

K2 Jasper has a hardness of 6.5 to 7 on the Mohs scale. For comparison, diamond is the hardest stone, 10 on the same scale. It is a variety that is widely used in jewelry. Nowadays, many collectors want their K2 jasper specimen. Furthermore, the constitution of this stone gives it numerous virtues in lithotherapy.

The deposit is in Afghanistan.

K2 Jasper is a stone of great power. It protects its wearer by absorbing negative energies and influences around it. It allows you to refocus during attitude gaps. He avoids slipping, letting go and weaknesses.

This stone is known for developing communication with others. Thus, it develops self-confidence and self-assurance. The wearer of a K2 jasper feels more comfortable when speaking in public. His speech is structured and his audience is won over. Thus, oral expression becomes his strong point. This stone fights language tics or stuttering.

K2 Jasper helps to live in the present and overcome trauma related to the past. It fights effectively against anxieties, buried fears, blockages due to childhood trauma. He faces and overcomes life's difficulties and provides great help during painful moments (death of a loved one, breakup or dismissal, etc.).

From a spiritual point of view, K2 Jasper diffuses the energy of the K2 mountain and provides peace and harmony. It promotes meditation, improves mental connections and stimulates psychic energy. It helps you better channel yourself and control your emotions. It opens the mind, generates compassion and empathy towards others.
